Offshore date issue

Needed the group help, have AP offshore chrono caliber 3126, the date used to switch automatically at midnite just like Rolex, but now I hear a click and date moves slowly into place by 230am, went to couple of repair shops and recommended overhaul and oil, but still the problem persists, anyone has experienced this issue? Any suggestions or solution other than sending to AP which recommended to replace the entire movement with an updated caliber?
