Tokyo AP grey market shopping
Like I said in the other thread First off I will tell everyone anything newer is MORE EXPENSIVE HERE THAN IN THE USA So don’t bother coming here it’s a waste of time.
Pepsis for 21k starting and up! Daytonas 116500 series all high 20s low 30s. If your hunting for vintage Rolex ok you can find some deals but beware you need to know what your looking for and experienced. So we hit the usual Nakano Broadway then Shinjuku then Shibuya we hit a total of about 20-30 shops in total hunting for watches. We did find the watches I was looking for and they are NOT cheaper here even without the taxes. The savings is 9% the way they calculate it not the advertised 10% I was able to try on at least 12 pieces I wanted to just because there was such a high concentration of time pieces and everyone is very nice. The prices are higher over here for sure 1,000,000 Yen is 6200USD all they are doing is adjusting the prices to US prices and lots of tourists are here buying watches The 15503BC shown here was $76k usd the 5168G was 93k usd I think The Japan edition chrono was 82K usd The 15202 was shockingly lite and small in comparison to the 15503BC As you can see on the price tags there are multiple prices the NO tax price was for foreigners that’s the 9% tax deduction. |

I was also in Nakano about 6 months ago and found prices very high for all brands. Also note that the price advertised is cash price, few places I asked wanted 5% premium for using a card! And they wouldn't move on the sticker price.
Hong Kong prices were much better if your ever in the area. |

Great write up on your adventure. Are any of these true new? I'd love to get one of the japan chronos, but have an issue buying used watches.
