Sub lost or stolen

My Submariner 16800 was lost or stolen on July 11th. (I've waited this long because I was convinced it was in my house somewhere).

What does one do in this situation? Should I put up signs, tell the police, call my insurance, or what? The last thing of mine that was stolen was a 10-speed bike when I was a kid, so I'm kind of at sea here.

Try to get a police report, post the serial number (and share with Rolex and the police), and let your insurance company know. Sorry.

Except for the signs, all of the above.

File a police report as you'll likely need it when you contact your insurance company.

Report it right away just in case it gets pawned! If you find it, alert the Police to remove it from the stolen list.

Why "except for the signs?" This was probably in the vicinity of the Staten Island Ferry in NYC, and the same people probably come there regularly. I was thinking of offering a reward of $500 or so, and any finder might rather have that then a
watch that might be hard to sell.

I'm a bit confused, was it lost or was it stolen?

Did you just get home and find it wasn't on your wrist?

What led to you discovering you no longer had it?

Mike, i can sorta relate as a week after my wife got her 36mm Celebration she lost it. Now first it must be said, in the past she has lost a timepiece (Swatch Body & Soul). So... we looked all over our home, the car, back-tracked.... nothin'.

Days passed, even called a few locals and my AD just as a heads up, maybe it fell off her wrist while shopping or doing gardening or ???

So one day i literally checked 'everywhere' within our home. Only after checking this really weird hidden bit deep inside our much lesser-used couch did i find it. First off, was in disbelief i found it. Sounds weird, yet was flabbergasted... and how the heck did it get in there in that couch?

Anywho, apologies for long story, but yes these things do happen.

PS: We never found the Swatch Body & Soul i bought during a trip to Sau Paulo and Rio. Watch gone, great memories last a lifetime

what do you mean, lost or stolen?

How do you NOT know if you "lost" it. Or "stolen"? Were you at the gym and left it in the locker? Or did someone break into your locker and left with it?

This is so bizzare that you don't know if you "lost" your watch.. Or someone physically stolen it off of your wrist or broken into where ever your watch was last seen.
