It was my first Rolex back in 2018.

If you’re heavily into sports professional then think twice but if you like the sporty/semi- formal look it’s a brilliant watch. It goes quite well with casual wear and looks good in short/tie/sports jackets so would look good at the bar, dates, club, family dinners etc.

If I didn’t already have a smooth bezel on an oyster bracelet, I would probably buy it. But since the decision is so personal, I would only ask my wife for her opinion, as she knows me best. What kind of help are you asking from us? We don’t know you, your collection, your style, your financial standing, your age, etc.

I have a Starbucks and a Pepsi so this would be the first dress watch for me. My wife isn’t into watches so she isn’t keen but ok with whatever I would do thank you for your perspective

The Datejust would be a nice addition to the two, but your collection will be just as special without it.

How very strange! I've just had a call for a dj41 mint green smooth bezel on a jubilee. Collecting tomorrow!

The blue is nice I like it. I don't have a jubilee so it should fit into my collection nicely.

If you have a starbucks and a pepsi and want a dressier watch, i'd go precious metal daytona, skydweller or day date next on the rolex train.

Or hop into another brand.

If I didn’t have one, yes, of course. My preference is fluted and jubilee but that’s still a slick looking watch.

What a bizarre question. DJs are available in a multitude of colours and trim options to suit all tastes. How would a group of strangers understand your tastes?

Unless you are really asking “Should I buy this to flip and try to make a profit?”

This is a subtle choice that would compliment your other watches, it is both dressy and casual and the blue dail is stunning. Sometimes we need to appreciate the simplicity in watches.

It's a very nice watch. For me personally it's fluted bezel or nothing with the DJ. Either bracelet options are fine.

I can see your viewpoint, for me, I think the fluted is an occasion watch and I would definitely get one in addition to a smooth bezel as I feel that can literally be worn for all occasions. I'm a more casual guy and don't think a fluted would get much wrist time, although I do love them and would likely add one in the future I think. Also favour the fluted in a 36 I think.

I'm on the waitlist but for white dial (smooth bezel on jubliee).

But if u didnt ask for it and its not in the config u want, its ok to say "no". It's not like the AD will push u to the bottom of the waitlist. A lot of times, they are just trying to sell the configs that are not popular.

I've been offerd the "basic" DJ on smooth bezel and oyster bracelet both in Las Vegas (last month) and in Maui (back in April). Just walkins.

I own one just like that with the smooth bezel and then I have another one just like that with the fluted bezel. for me it filled a slot in my collection and gave me another option for a dress watch it's entirely up to you as to what you want I know there are other considerations like if I turn down my authorized dealer will he call me again for another watch he might say he will but he might also hesitate and not oh my now what do I do. Only time will tell hopefully you have an established relationship with your authorized dealer so if you turn it down it won't matter.

Pass. I prefer the jubilee bracelet on a DJ as I have a few watches which already use the oyster. I'm less bothered about the bezel - both smooth and fluted have pros & cons.

I found the blue dial to be quite dark, so maybe something with a lighter dial might offer more variance based on your current collection.

I had this few months back but the white didn’t really do much for me thus didn’t get wrist time so I decided on either blue or mint for DJ if ever. It’s really hard for any other Rolex to beat my Pepsi and Starbucks for the wrist time. I had steel bezel Daytona a few years back and it didn’t last too. I just am looking for a dress watch to complete the collection of 3. Thank you all for your thought appreciate a lot.

I'd be tempted to save a few pennies and go grand seiko if you're looking for a nice dress watch.

Fortunately my vote doesn’t count for much. We all have our own tastes. I have the blue dial DJ and love it. I think there are many configurations that look amazing. I suspect I’ll add a white dial with smooth bezel at some point.

It is a sportier iteration. Fluted on jubilee is flashiest / most formal. Smooth on jubilee (what I have, because it was my preference) is most versatile to dress up or down. Smooth on oyster is sportiest…

But they all look great.

No, because I prefer the fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet.
