Presentation box 1969 GMT Master 1675/8 Concorde? Anybody?

Hi all posting this request for information for a new member @repaircraftsvc. He has the solid gold Rolex GMT Master 1675/8 Concorde in question. It is from 1969 and serial number is 2046XXX. He purchased it from a PX in Yokusoka, Japan in 1969. He has logged a number of flight hours with this watch and has a long history in the military. perhaps someone on this forum has some information they would like to share regarding the appropriate box for his watch.

He has the other documents that came with it but not the actual box. As it is sold gold, I am under the impression it came in a larger box than what is typically used for an all stainless version like the coffin box, bufcor box or something like that. At the same time, I know many sales reps just used whatever they had at hand to box it up. I thought perhaps a 62.00.01 might be the one but I truly do not know. Here is the full listing and story if interested and a few pics of his watch and papers. https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=947215

Any help appreciated! Anybody???

Don't know if the below "large box" is what you are referring to found on HQMilton. It is definitely scarce. Otherwise, as you may well know, depending on the year that the watch was sold, it could have been supplied with almost any box available by the dealer or preferred by the buyer.

Definitely going to be hard to track down. I have contacted a seller on Chrono24 that has a full set and they said they would provide pics today or tomorrow. I will post them here when he does. Thanks for the info @TimeToGo, much appreciated.

The gentleman who currently is in possession of this gold 1969 Rolex GMT Master 1675/8 Concorde was kind enough to send a few pics of the box. It appears to have the number 54.00.8. That last digit may be a 3 in which case, 54.00.3. Hard to read, even at magnification. Here is the listing on Chrono24 which lists it as a full set if someone is interested https://www.chrono24.com/rolex/rolex...id35959527.htm

Interesting Looks like his watch S/N on the punched book is 1934
Mine is S/N 2046.
So his is a bit earlier watch.
Mine sold 29 Oct 1969.

I have a serti 16758 on jubilee and I must say that brown 1675/8 on rivet looks fun…
Love the early GMT Master/pre master II…

That is a good question. I tried to make an account but was unable to complete the registration process as it does not recognize +1 as my phone prefix, just EU countries. I have contacted their support line and will update you when they have contacted me.

It only about $77 USD. would be OK if they don't have a big shipping on it.
Not a very good one but better than nothing. Then we can keep looking for a better one.

I cannot register without an EU number. I will try to see if this guy has a separate account but I am unable to directly send a message either unless I am registered on the site. It's a little back assward… Not giving up yet though. Shipping looks to be about $11.

Well if I really wanted it and ordering from the website is too complicated from the USA, I would consider asking one of the amazing EU members/dealers here if they would buy it on my behalf if I send them the funds via paypal in advance…

This box that I posted earlier actually, link below, looks better than that other one on the Italian site:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/226299154798

Another option is to see if you can source the interior insert or have an aftermarket one made similar to this one:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/266758469411

I have contacted both. One for dimensions on interior (box) and the other to see if they can make one with green faux leather if indeed they are the ones that make them (insert). Will provide an update if they respond.

These particular boxes are like hen's teeth it seems. You might want to jump on the box if the price is right. Again on EBAY but perhaps since your daughter-in-law is looking too, she can help with the actual purchase?

Oh and registering on the Subito site was a bust! @KY… has the best option there. But again, use the link above as it looks better than the Subito one anyways.

HAY someone has to have a Rolex Box 54.00.3 that they would sell before I run out of time.
Since I have all the paper work I sure would like a box when I pass it all to my son.

It says right in the description on the left they will ship to the US. Although, they do say to contact the seller for shipping details. Perhaps contact the seller directly. That is the same seller that offered me 10% off.

Rolex box

Working on it again sent sell message.

Have you seen where you can get the inside watch holder made or after market one?
My daughters business partner is working on it for me. She the buyer for the comp.

54.00.3 Still looking for

I still am looking for presentation box 54.00.3 for my 1969 16758 GMT Master Concorde watch.
At 90 years old I am running out of time and would like to have it to complete my watch history when I pass it on to my son.
I have all the original paper work and am just missing the box.
