Sizing issue (in between links)

I just received a 26238CE. I’m in between link sizes and not sure if AP makes a 0.5 or 1.5 link. In any case, I’ve had the watch fitted with both the loose and tighter setting (removing a link). I can’t tolerate the tighter setting and will go back to the extra link. Two questions:

Since the extra link is odd, is it preferential to place it on the 12:00 or 6:00 side?

Is there a side the link could be placed on that makes the bracelet a feel a bit tighter ergonomically?

I’m left handed and wear the watch on my right wrist if it makes any difference.

Thanks for any help

They make 1.5 links, but no half links. Call AP Clearwater directly and they can ship you one but it likely won't be cheap!

AP typically does 1.5 links. I don't think the side makes any difference other than where the buckle lands on the under side of your wrist. I find it most comfortable when it is centered which for me typically means the 6:00 side is shorter than the 12:00 side.

About $500 or £500 for a 1.5 link in steel. But my AP House gave me the link in exchange for 1x 1.0 link off my bracelet and no extra cash. A condition for this exchange is that I requested the 1.5 link before 1 week had elapsed wearing the watch the the links on my watch were unmarked.

Conclusion: assuming you bought from AP, act fast and get a request in for a 1.5 link. The replacement link did take quite a few weeks to arrive. But as I'd got my request in early they did the exchange.

I was able to change the fit/ feel by moving the clasp one link toward the 12 side, moving the clasp toward the 6 side allowed it to sit in a better place and feel like a better fit.
For my watch / wrist this ended up having the clasp in a matte centered position which I preferred visually.
I was contemplating adding the 1.5 link and removing the 1 link but I didn’t like the way it looked on wrist.

Everyone, thanks for your input. I added the link the 12:00 side for the time being and will reach out to try to get a 1.5 link.
