First photos of 6538 homage - MkII Kingston (pre-production)

I have mentioned this watch a number of times here (Ref 6538 homage). Bill Yao finally revealed some pre-production mock-ups now that most of the parts are in from his suppliers.

This pre-production doesn't have the proper crown (they aren't back from the supplier yet), but it will be an 8mm "big crown" as depicted in the computer drafts. There is also a riveted bracelet.

There are some handset and bezel insert options, but that's about it on this one. 300 pieces, and the first 200 are spoken for (I'm one of the lucky 200)

Yeah, it's a fantastic tribute piece.

I should be seeing the sample in real life this weekend at a WIS meet in NYC. I'll take some photos and report back...

I'm in for one of these, 2nd stage pre-order but I did opt for the spares kit.

Have fun and take LOTS of photos!

Me too. Second plank, spare kit. Wish I had made up my mind earlier.

A highly decorated 2836-2, Elabore grade with Incabloc shock protection. It will not be a chronometer but will be carefully regulated.

Sadly I missed the meet in NYC due to getting the flu, but these shots were posted by someone who attended yesterday. Again - the crown is not the final crown but rather a placeholder until the final big crown parts are back from the supplier.
