GMT back from the Dallas Rolex 'spa'

Just got my 24 year old GMT16750 back from the Dallas RSC looking like brand new. It took just over 5 weeks from the day I dropped it at the post office registered mail till it was delivered back to me today. The reputation of the Dallas RSC is well deserved, it looks beautiful. Included in the 'treatment' -factory servicing of the movement - pres prf
New acrylic crystal
new pepsi bezel insert,
tube and winding crown
refinish of the case and bracelet
1 new pair of hands
1 new second hand
1 new 24 hr hand
Total bill- $695 - a little pricey perhaps, but worth it IMHO. Nice new 1 yr warranty and new box & service papers ( my 3rd set of service papers ). And the watch is good for another 7 or 8 years. The dial/face is still original with the lume pretty much gone, but the new hands are as bright as can be, making for a little different look when checking the time in the dark. kind of cool actually. I can tell you how glad I am to get it back on my wrist.

Man, I hope my Sub comes back soon, I feel so naked without it. Also, it sounds like more than a reasonable price for the amount of work that was done.

Stories like this are why it is so silly to freak out over a scratch, a simple polishing and it looks like the day you bought it. I hope you get many more years of enjoyment out of her.

Jack, question. When you say box, do you mean like the original box? Just curious.

Not exactly an original box, but a small shipping box form filled with foam with a perfect cutout to hold the watch safely in place, and a very prevelent 'Rolex' logo displayed. Also came with a new polishing cloth and papers describing the watch and the work performed and a 1 year warranty certificate. I know pictures would be great, but my crappy little point and shoot digital camera just isnt up to par with the great pics I see on this site.

I did the same a while ago and got the superlumenova hands. With the tritium dial, the way it looks in the dark is odd but i love it regardless. My 16750 is my first rolex. The tritium has faded over 20+ years but it is still a great piece.
Post pics!!

before the service, I'd lose a few seconds every day, it wasnt bad, but it was off a bit. Since I set it yesterday when I got it back...a little over 24 hours ago...it's dead on, to the second. I just checked. Nice.

sounds very cheap to me... you got a much better deal than i got..... i had work done on my D serial gmt 16710.. full service.. new black bezel insert....new crystal....refinish of the case and bracelet.....new tube and winding crown... my bargain price 1065.00....my service was done at the rsc in manhattan.... the watch came out great by the way... and the customer service in manhattan was excellent... i waited 20 minutes and i left with my full estimate...was told they would call me in 6 weeks... the watch was ready in 4 weeks for pickup

now with pics!

finally getting around to posting the pics of my GMT 16750 back from the Dallas Service center. My first attempt at posting pics, so kindly disregard the fingerprints on the crystal and the bracelet clasp. Anyway - they did a great job, this 24 year old watch looks like brand new and is keeping perfect time.
