HELP, water logged in Portland OR
Hey,
My mom just gave me a pair of used, 80's-90's vintage Datejusts. I had planned to have them both serviced to make sure that they were in good shape when I got home to Maryland. In my enthusiasm for my new watch I wore it and got into a hot tub Saturday night, only to find that one of the rear case seals was clearly not seated properly-the seal can actually be seen "bulging" out the side of the back case. Anyhow, I need to get it serviced ASAP, so it isn't permanently damaged. Besides Watchworks/alex and company any other places I might want to consider getting it serviced? Any idea the general cost of general service at area watchmakers? Thanks, Justin Wade |

I think when is more important than where.
Have it opened and serviced ASAP. Welcome to the Forum.

quickly
You don't have to use Rolex, but you need to get the wet watch serviced, almost immediately. Watches are made of very small, thin parts. What we would usually consider "field brown" or light rust can ruin a watch.

Expect 350 to 500...... watchmakers don't come down much when it's a Rolex..
Personally, I would send it to Rolex as they will toss any parts that are questionable or out of tolerance where-as a non-Rolex shop won't have the spare parts to be able to do this easily.
