What The Hey. !!! AGAIN ????

Welcome back everybody..............

Scott and the fine Server Admin gang has us back up again, but we are on our own for a while..

We have been shuffled around a bit and not completely connected so we don't pull down the entire Server with this malicious attack by the world Low-Life's

Expect the system to be slow and periodically go up and down for a while..

Please bear with us............. we're still the best forum for you and our shared interests......... and we will prevail.............

Real happy to be going again. Thanks to the guys.
I like most computer users really do not understand too much why these things happen, is there anything that we the users can do to help prevent these attacks, break downs or whatever you call it

very very true....in fact I think a comment was made about banning the 1st person who invited JJ on as they were worried their server wouldn't cope

I wish it were that easy.... and Scott even more so..

This attack is malicious and intentional........ It's intent is to drive you, and others, away so that TRF isn't the force in the Rolex world that it has become..

We are what we are because of the members............

Thank god.. I thought my wireless was going nuts.. I rebooted the router and still no TRF... but now the wait is over......
I thought JJ overloaded the server with all those posts...

The attackers should realize they need to go after the guy with the more posts in the forum...

Thanks for your answer. You are correct, I as I'm sure most members feel that we are among friends here on the forum and although an inconvenience, it ain't going to drive us away

Thanks for all the work you guys... I just don't understand why people would attack TRF? If you ever find out who it is.. can we all go over and do this to them?

Does anyone know the reason why this is being done? Why do certain individuals want this watch forum taken down? I mean "Chill, it's just a watch forum".

The forum might want to entertain the idea of purchasing attack mitigation service.

Companies offering this include:

VeriSign
Verizon
AT&T

VeriSign's service is provider-agnostic, while the other ones depend upon having transit service with them.

The hosting provider is hanging off of ALTER.NET (UUNET) which means that's Verizon.

When you're under attack, these services divert your traffic through mitigation "farms", consisting of Cisco Guards or Arbor TMS, and possibly some homegrown stuff. These devices scrub the bad traffic, and deliver only the good traffic.

It can be quite costly, since they can't oversubscribe services of this kind. If you procure say 2Gbits/sec of mitigation capacity, they reserve that for your site(s).

Indeed nice to see that you got the site up and running again , even it is slow and my break down again . We will all bare with you and keep supporting this forum . Having said that ,I will connect to Paypal and make a small contribution . All little bits may help . Can't do much more as I'm skinned , made the wire to my cousin in L.A. as we found a good deal at a Rolex AD on a BNIB 166710LN , will have to wait till the 23rd of December to get my paws on it , my cousin only comes back home then .Absolute torture !
