Poll: Are you a "Flipper" or a "Keeper" ?

This year I've bought and sold quickly ... flipped ... 8 watches (5513, 16800, daytona, superocean, MkII, Seiko, speedmaster, seamaster).
In addition to that I've bought 3 watches this year that I still have (Pan312, Milg LV, PO)
I'm beginning to think I have a problem flipping?

How many watches have you quickly bought and sold this year??

Keep my watches , unless you consider having done a straight swap of F-reg SS Daytona for a BNIB V-reg SS Daytona trough my AD a couple of weeks ago as a flip / transaction .

wish I would do that. Most watches I've bought because of hype at the watch sites or at the AD
Funnily, the watches I'd never thought I'd keep, I've kept and loved (Milgauss) and the ones I'd never thought I'd sell, I've sold (daytona, 5513 sub)

I keep all my watches but for different reasons.
The first simply because it is my first rolie.
The others because i was always wanted them.

The only problem with keeping your watches is that you must have a lot of spare money especially if you are hanging around in such addictive places, like TRF

I bought 4 watches this year, and will keep them. I've decided to pace myself, and will be adopting Milan's strategy of one per year.

Definitely a keeper. I bought my oldest watch 8 years ago and then several watches at varying intervals. Have not flipped any watch till now.

Used to be a BIG time flipper, but this year I sold off just one watch (my Blue Sub) and bought 2 new ones - now, I think I'm an improved man!!

Problem is I can't say no to a hot girl at an AD or a massive ad-campaign... and later I feel sorry for the poor watch laying alone in a box for weeks, knowing I'll never wear it again

Always a keeper when it comes to Oysters. An occasional small time flipper of other brands.

Very little is sacred and unflipable.....

There are 2 or 4 pieces I would never sell, short of that its
all fair game for flippin season.

I think I am around 10 flips in the past year or so.

I have been collecting watches of all kinds for over 30 years. I am a flipper...... I have had complete turnover of brands in a year.

I do have the first watch I purchased out of high school. It was a Pulsar "Tank" watch, white dial w/black Roman. My next watch was a DJ white dial w/gold Roman...............that's the one that got me started collecting watches and Rolex.

I am a keeper. Generally, I hesitate to buy new watches (unless I know a model change is coming up, etc.) and make sure that I give myself time before spending. Because of this, I wind up with watches I like for the long haul.
