Leather Strap on GMT Master 2

Has anyone done this? I have been looking at black leather straps online. So far i have come to these conclusions...

1. 20mm strap
2. needs to have curved ends.
3. Maybe Ostrich
4. Hirsch

Help?

Hirsch's Leonardo group of straps are the curved end ones that come to mind. My little experience is that the curved end straps aren't as important to the appearance as you might expect. The Hirsch's used to come in Alligator, rubber, and leather but not ostrich.

Not all curved end straps are curved for Rolex, so it isn't automatic that they'll fit.

Here ya' go, John: http://internationalwatchman.com/
Go to straps, XXL, and scroll down a bit. You can specify brushed or polished hardware as well.
David [dmh] also has some leather natos at great prices too: http://natostrap.blogspot.com/ .

Bought a Leonardo once and it would not fit the Rolex I bought it for. No position was right. I like a strap on my watches from time to time for a change of pace. Here's a couple of different GMT's.

I have a Hirsch Medici (part of leonardo curved end series) here that I can't use, too big for me and not available in a short. Oh well, before I sell it anyone want to see pictures of it on a GMTIIC, 1807 president or TOG?

Don't suppose anyone would be interested in it, barely worn.

SJ, I would like to see it on the President. I have been thinking about getting one of those straps, but have been hesitant since I haven't seen any on DDs.

Thanks.

Buz, the GMT on the NATO looks good. Where did you find those straps?

Here they are. I especially like how the back side comes so close to matching the height of the back of the watch. The Medici is a nice, soft and pretty comfortable band. The big down sides are the buckle only comes in silver and the worst thing is it is too big for my 6.5" wrist and is not sold in a short version. With the watch and band pictured I was on the last hole and wanting for another hole to tighten it up more. I sort of knew this going into it but wanted to try anyway because I really wanted a curved end band like this one.
