Help Me Choose Between Two Beautiful DJ2

In the next few days, I plan to buy a TT SS/YG DateJust II. Up to this time, I'm still torn apart between these two variants. If it were you, between the two, which you find as the most striking dial design.

Green Roman Dial

Black Arabic Dial

black arabic all the way... the green roman is very nice from the pics i have seen here on TRF, but that black arabic combo has always looked great - since the original DJ. the black arabic they do with the RG TT is amazing.

Please post pics when you get it! I would LOVE to see the first black arabic on here

The one on top was the centerpiece of Rolex' advertising campaign for this model, and frankly the one that looks the best to me, ESPECIALLY with that VERY cool green treatment on the numerals. I'm not all that wild about arabic numerals on my Rolexes except in some very limited circumstances (3,6,9 dials etc.).

IMO the TT black Arabic dial would be the more classical one to get and the green roman dial is more funky.... Not many people can appreciate the green edging roman numerals and the 9 oclock baton.

I went for the green roman dial DJII because I like green-ish Rollies..... :-)

You really have to try them on in person.. One may look better on you but less good on me....
I like the looks of the first but am sure that the second is equally striking..
good luck,
pete

I personally prefer the black Arabic. Are the green Romans painted on, or applied?

Black Arabic Dial for sure! I love the contrast of that dial.

The green romans are very nice but I find that depending on the angle and lighting they don't *pop* as much as I wish they would!

You really can't go wrong either way my friend! My vote is for the arabics.

Black dial arabic has lume looks great and is classic beauty, I like the green but the no lume and the baton at the 9 o'clock throws it off for me

Think I might say Ditto. But, I actually think both are very nice and either look is great. The black is slightly more of a classic look but then, the green romans may be less common in the long run. You have a tough choice to make. But, you can't go wrong because both are gorgeous.

I think the fluted bezel is neccessary on these models as the green roman and the arabic both are "out there" for a Rolex. The traditional bezel balance out these features and keep the Rolex identity. All IMO, of course.

I tell ya, I have been itching for the top one since I first saw the picture. I have yet to see one in person but all of the AD's that "just sold it yesterday" say it is beautiful in person... I think, for me, it will be a toss up between the top one and a SS Black and stick dial... Good luck and if you get the top one, let me know what it looks like in person!

In this case, black arabic dial. I would definitely go for the green, though, if there was not that single white marker at 9 o'clock. I realize the reason is to balance out the dial, with the date window at 3 o'clock, but it just looks wrong to me. The black arabic, with the number at 9 o'clock just looks a lot sharper to me. Why, oh why, did they decide on the white marker on the other one instead of a roman numeral!
I know...."Relax, it's only a white marker!"
Cheers,
Carl

I have not seen either in person. Both look great in the picture and I can see why it's hard for you.

I vote for arabic in this case.

Black arabic for me but only 'cos I find that white baton at 9 kinda "lop-sided?"

black Roman

I recently had the good fortune to need to make the similar decision, and I had narrowed it down to the green DJII and the black dial with roman ....I looked at both in different lighting situations, and different angles, and I must say the black dial with the roman numerals was just more striking to me...the black complimented the gold TT so nicely...

IMHO the green is just a fad colour that will not last and be a classic like the black dial on TT...again IMHO...

Any which way you go, you really can't loose...

Regards

Fad color? If there is one color to characterize Rolex, it would be green, no?
