Rolex President Day DAte..... Fault with date bit i think.. help??
Hi guys had the watch a few years and hardly wear it....
had accident with it about 2.5 yrs ago and repair was £3500 and was fully overhauled by rolex... from then on its sat in box Decided this year will wear rather than twice a year(not kidding).. Went to adjust the time and date but it seems that the date does not fully move on and you see the white fan bit as if its stuck????... if i move the winder on it goes thru days ok via quickset however if i wind the hours on to change date the date jams and you see the white fan bit... argh ... help?????? |

I think that the problem is that it's sat in a box for too long..
Frequently the problem with date wheels hanging up is that too much oil gets underneath and it hangs on the oil rather than snapping in position... It usually works out after a bit... If it has been siting in one position too long, the oil could pool up under the wheel.. The only immediate fix is to have it taken apart and the date wheel cleaned and reinstalled..

think the day is a bit tempramental as well mind u this will be the same part? had a major overhaul at rolex after accidental damage 2 yrs ago it looks brand new... resolution this year was to wear it rather than sitting in box.... think its had 4 hours use in that time. |

Separate discs for the day and the date, but same problem is possible for both.

Ok the watch day and date moved on at 2.5 mins past midnight
A weird ? Why is it when you wind on a watch on manually the day and date changes spot on 12. Yet when it's running on yur wrist or naturally does not change till after 12 ????????? Am I talking sense? |
