Which tube are you talking about? And when you say "straps", are you referring to straps as in leather or nylon ones?

Yes, you should use tubes on Luminors, but not on Radiomirs.

Why? Good Radiomir straps have two short tubes each side that connect to provide a strong base for the strap and prevent pin damage

Yes, tubes are a wise idea to use if you're talking about straps for the Luminors.

The tubes are especially important when it comes to the luminors that have screws for the lugs. The tubes help prevent the leather from rubbing the screws and backing them out unintentionally. The tubes are also thought to help reduce the wear and tear on the straps.

So, for models with screw lugs - absolutely!!!!
For models with the new strap change system - it doesn't hurt at all and may actually make your straps last longer.
