Icon6 Which Milgauss do you like best?

I think the white is kind of different, but I don''t see many. Is this because it's not a popular or dressy as black? Seems like this color has more potential "collectibility" in the future if they don't make as many. I know nobody has a crystal ball, but what do you think?

I also see a lot of black with green for sale. Did this lose its popularity?

I really like the black one to be honest, but the GV is pretty cool. Not a huge fan of watches with white faces, but that's me.

I really love the black 116400 with the GV as my second choice. It just seems like a watch that would go good with anything and the little orange markers add that 'zing' that most black faced watches seem to lack imo.

To me, the most important criteria when buying a watch is whether it looks good to me and whether I'll he happy putting it on my wrist. As many TRFers have said, the watch has to "sing'' to me.

Collectibility/rarity is of secondary importance - IMO there's no point in buying a watch that people think is hard to get or may rise in value in the future if doesn't appeal to me. So I went for the GV because I think it looks the best.

But it was a close decision - the other two are also very good-looking watches.

For Sure....the GV...................eerrmm!!!!!.....no wait.......the Plain Black and thats FINAL!!!!!!......

Maybe..... absolutely has to be the White????

Everytime you guys do one of these threads it confuses
my brain more
GV,GV,GV!!!!

Seriously, it seems the initial rush for GV has come to an end and TRFers are reporting GV's available in more and more ADs now.

Maybe its because the initial demand has now eased off and/or Rolex have fixed the rumoured production probs with the GV crystal

History would suggest that if the White is a slow seller, then it would become a collectable in the future....but who knows for sure???

I just wish i could buy all 3 versions!!!!!!

I think the GV is the best, then the black dial/clear crystal.

However, I own the white dial because it was the cheapest.

Own a GV, by the time it is all said and done, will own all three.... I know, I'm nuts, but so be it. Millie is the simplest watch I own, and also the most comfortable, easy to read, and near PERFECT size!

When the GV came out in 2007, it first got me interested in the Milgauss, and I never dreamed I would own one. When I finally got to the point of seriously looking at buying a Rolex, I discovered there were two other models as well. At the time, my AD had all three, but the one with the black dial and plain crystal won hands down. To me, the most distinctive feature of this watch is the thunderbolt second hand, which is shared by all three models. I think it is accentuated more with the plain crystal model, because all the markers are white. The only orange on the dial other than the second hand, is the small markers round the edge of the dial, and the text "Milgauss" under the Rolex logo. The watch, in it's simplicity, screams elegance and class. I have to admit, I find the green crystal extremely unique and desirable, but I just wish the green was a bit more subtle. I also find the mix of white and orange markers, plus the small arabic markers round the edge of the dial just a bit too busy. The white dial model is attractive in it's own way, but I just find it a bit "clinical" looking.
Having said all that, I wish I could afford to have a GV as well, but the model with the plain crystal is definitely first choice.

Hopefully, I can talk my buddy Shandy into taking some really good shots of this beauty one day!
Cheers,
Carl

So what exactly does "GV" stand for (sorry, I'm a Rolex newbie).

Is the white dial lower production or do I just see less of them?

Not sure there really is any meaning to GV other than designation of the green sapphire crystal. I'm sure someone with more knowledge than I have will come along and clarify it. All I know is I really like it! Welcome to TRF!!
