Now that's one BLUE bezel insert!!

Lots of feedback. Not saying it's a fake, but that bezel insert looks odd. Aftermarket??

The dial looks odd, like the text has "bled".

the font, "OYSTER PERPETUAL DATE" seems to be stretched across the dial more than mine.

9 o'clock marker seems crooked.

The pearl is too big for the triangle. Six strikes and you're out.

We should get swag for this. Rolex I know you are there; you use "WatchOut" to learn about your product.

I just noticed the 12 triangle doesn't line up with the center tine of the crown.

Could it be a vintage?

houseofzohar ( 2808)

Impressive feedback but not for watches. This is evident by calling this model a 16800.

Watch looks good.

How so? How are you justifying what the others see as wrong?

The original OP is saying he did not think it was a fake. He said the bezel looks odd. = there are some spacing issues BUT that does not make the watch a fake! The bezel may be aftermarket. Another commented the triangle may be too bid... OK then it may be aftermarket.

It is obvious the pictures are odd, possibly scanned?! I do not know, but the pics were taken at diff angles (not head on). The triangle looks off, meaning the the bezel could be turned a smidge and not properly aligned....now could that make the 9'o clock marker off....possibly based on the angle.

The dial looks proper for a late 1980s model.

The endlinks/lug gaps look huge....OK, take a close up picture of ANY watch (or anything for that matter)...you may get the same reaction!

I state MY opinion - which is ..... I think the watch is fine!

This one looks fine, I know why it looks odd, there is a color difference on the gold on these 16803 bezels as per this show from bernard watch & co:

The subject watch, right, has a lower pearl, the short end of the second hand is shorter and the disk is bigger; the 9 font is different.
Well this is how it looks to my old eyes.

Thanks Earl I may need a heap more coffee :-) I miss my coffee machine.

Check the 12 marker on the dial and the alignment of the coronet, that nine hour marker, the fonts and spacing on the lower half of the dial, this is a hunkus de junkus Unless someone got to it and did a bad restore

I think Dave is right on the money... "bad restore". This watch is in absolutely horrific condition. You would think the seller would have at least cleaned it up a bit before listing it. Did you see the grunge on the inside of the clasp? I don't know what could have caused those gaps between the lugs and end links! The marker at the 12 position is definitely crooked. The entire dial is a mess. Sad to see what "may" have been a beautiful Rolex at one time left for dead like that. BTW, take a look at the oval on the coronet... looks more like a smilely face... LOL.
