Take it in your own country if the price is ok is my advice.
And welcome!

Probably should by right where you live, so if there are any problems, you can deal directly with them. That being said, there are many good deals to be found abroad.
Choose wisely, but choose Rolex! |

Buy locally. As mentioned previously, if you have problems, you can go back to your shop to remedy the problem. Last thing you need is to fly back to Barbados, only to find out the shop closed out of business (unlikely, but you never know).

Get to know your local Dealer and try to buy from him/her for your first one. Go try them on and see how they look to you. Take your time and have fun

will... Barbados uses US list price and no tax. When I was there in sept last year they had a ss GMTIIC and there was no room for discount (maybe I had a newbee saleswoman...)
Hope this helps. Oh btw - there is only one Rolex AD on Bridge street that I know. |

Hi, well when the GMT was £3600 in the UK Ipicked up my GMT IIC in The Royal shop on Broad street in Bridgetown for around £3000 at the time ( June 2008)- you can pay there in USD or barbados dollars. BUT the exchange rate is not so favourable right now for the £. Where you staying over there?
Good luck

Hi Tony
Firstly, welcome to TRF! You've come to the right place for information...many happy returns.
Second, CONGRATS on your decision to treat yourself to something you've clearly wanted for yourself for a very long time. You'll feel as good over the years each time you look at it on your wrist as you do the day you get it! Haven't been to Barbados but seems a few others have...I'll leave it to you but add: 1. If you're comfortable, perhaps you'll consider purchasing from a reputable seller on TRF? You could stand to save considerably. 2. There is something to be said for purchasing through your AD. Perhaps it may be worth it since this sounds like your first lux watch purchase? There is something to be said about bricks and mortar in your hometown to resolve any issues that may arise if that rare occurrence happens. Also, you may begin a relationship with them that bears fruit down the road when you're ready for your next (yes, believe me) purchase! Good luck whatever you decide! Be sure to post pics and let us know how it turns out! --Paul
