Rolex Ref: 1055 help.
Am I correct that the first DD 6511 had a 1055 movement and after one year the DD 6611 also had a 1055 but with an improved balance wheel?
Is this a real 1055 and if so is this the old or new one? No one said it would be easy. |

So the DD is the Red-Headed Step-Child of Rolex, I'm on my own? Can I get an exhibition case back; it looks as good a an Asian ETA movement.

Always though the 1055 was in the Rolex Date models 6510, 6511, 6611, 6612, 6613.
I had piccys of the 1055 somewhere around here I'll come across them soon I hope :-)

I'm inclined to believe the seller so I have to evaluate the watch myself. He only wants about $150 more than he paid as he said he had the watch serviced. It is not a vast amount as Rolex's sell for but more than I want to throw down a gopher hole. He has a three day money back guarantee too. The watch was on "WatchOut" and we gave it a "wat'dat? I donn'o." Oh fudge, 18k DD's speak to me. They speak like a high maintenance girl friend. |
