Jubilee Band en route to Hong Kong

Having read several posts regarding tightening of Jubilee Bands, I had contacted Michael Young by email and got a reply within a couple of days. Michael quoted me a price to do the work on my TT Jubilee band, which I have now sent off to Hong Kong.
I hope it gets there safely and also, when the job is done, I hope it gets back to me safely.
It should take between four and six weeks to complete, but I am already getting withdrawal symptoms as I cannot wear my TT DJ.
I can't wait to see the difference when the pins are changed on the stretched band, and I hope its as good as everyone says.

Best of luck, John. Hope it comes back tighter than a snare drum.

If I may ask, What is the charge for something like that?

I hear he is the best at it.

Hi Jeff,
Michael Young quoted $120 USD plus postage to do the work on the jubilee band. Quite reasonable in my opinion.

I think the cost depends on what is going to be done to the watch band. If its a bit of a mess and needs new parts, then that will obviously affect the price. He may ask for photographs beforehand to estimate how much work needs to be done.

Do you have a pic of your band?
I replaced the Jubilee band on my TT DJ with a nice slightly used one, looks awesome!
But I would love to restore the original band, it is really stretched.

Looks not too bad in the pic, but is not under any stress. When fitted to the watch, it would sag badly.
I think even badly stretched ones can be refurbished. Michael would be able to tell you if you sent him a picture of it.

I don't even think it would be worth fixing this mess, it's over 40 years old and ..it's a wreck. Cant believe I waited so long to replace it.

That will be worth seeing Marc, if you manage to get it fixed up. I am sure Michael will be able to sort it out for you.

Received an email from Michael Young this morning to say that the work on my TT Jubilee band is now complete.
Now waiting on its arrival via EMS postage.
Will hopefully be able to post pics when I have it back on my DJ.
(may be though difficult, as I presently have one arm out of use, but will give it a go)

Was sent from HK on Saturday. Arrived 15 minutes ago.
How do I get it back on my DJ and take pics with 1 arm out of operation?

Going to try and set up my camera now, probably do more damage to my arm
Was it worth it?

Eagerly awaiting your update.

I'm considering sending my bracelet to Michael as well but would love to hear your report first for assurance. Hope you have a good experience.

The verdict is definately I'll bet it's now a lot tighter than before.

Just curious, does anyone know if he uses some type of custom made aftermarket pins in his band restoration work, as I'd be surprised if Rolex sold those parts individually.

These watchmakers in HK or Singapore usually have their networks of getting Rolex parts. It's really not that hard!
