Do you wear your Holygrail watch everyday?
Hello All,
My holygrail watch is my Patek 5107 in White Gold. I am curious about who wears their holygrail watch everyday. I tend to wear my Patek on special occassion/weekends and when I am feeling a bit down (and need a pickup). My watch is white gold and has a leather strap. So it is not ideal for everyday wear in the tropics! I suppose, if my holygrail watch was a Steel Daytona. You could wear it alot more? I once had a Rolex 18238 (it was my holy grail watch) and I was always conscious of scratching it, stretch and other horrors! |

What's the point of owning it if you don't wear it?

I don't own my grail ... yet. But when I do, I will wear it, swim in it ... use it as it was intended. I agree with Scott. Why own it otherwise?

Have agree its only a watch and watches are meant to be worn no matter the brand or cost.

Seems like you have quite a few holy grails. I always thought a holy grail meant the best and just one.
On the side note, I don't own my holy grail yet and don't even have one just yet...but if I did, I would probably wear it not as a daily but often enough to enjoy it. |

My grail sits atop a special altar, where each and every day, I have a special moment to collect (no pun) myself, to face the world.

My Holy Grail watch is my Sub 16610, I wear it 5 days a week.
I like all the watches in my collection but if i had to keep only one it would be the sub. _Faide |

Hello all,
I have owned quite a few HOLYGRAIL watches..... HOWEVER - I have had to sell them as circumstances demanded. My 18238 was sold long ago. Such a shame but that it life. When I got the Patek - I could decided on whatever I wanted. As I had "done" the gold president thing... I chose a Patek. But - I only have 1 holygrail watch at a time. SORRY - but I am just a regular working guy! |

I rotate all my watches on a daily basis. My PP gets most wrist time closely followed by my daytona.

You can't start a thread like this and not post pictures of your grail. Let's see the Patek!!
Now, to answer your question...I don't have my holy grail, which is the WG Sub, but when i do, I wouldn't think that it would leave my wrist. |

Surprised in what way?
On another note a grail doesnt need to be expensive or complicated or even rare. It just needs to be the watch you always wanted. When finally you get it, it should be worn. I really cant understand why some people buy their holy grail watch and then dont wear it because they dont want to get it scratched. Just taking it out of the safe once in a while to look at it. Might as well just download high quality JPEGs? No risk of it being stolen and no need to pay high insurance premiums hehehe. _Faide |

My grail watch is my white Explorer II. It also happens to be the cheapest tool watch I own.

a SUB is now $6,000 - that is just FOR A WATCH. that is a LOT of money - even used at $4k - that's a lot of money. Many people have to save up a long time to have that type of disposible cash. And many people will never have $6k to throw down on a watch. so yes - I can see a SUB (or even an Omega or TAG for some) being a grail watch. |
