Which Style Dial on Datejust 166234???

TRF - I have caught the bug of Rolex regarding it's brand, excellence, craftmanship, and overall quality and history!

I just bought my first brand new Rolex SS sub 16610, and would like to compliment it with a dressier Rolex for both day and evening wear. I NEED YOUR HELP - I'm interested in a new Datejust SS 116234 - Fluted Bezel with Jubilee Bracelet - but torn as to which dial to go with please assit with your thought and opinion or simply 1, 2, or 3:

1. Classic Silver Stick?
2. Rhodiam Dial with Roman numerals?
3. White Dial with Roman numerals?

Thank you guys! I still want to render more input. I'm not really into bling, so diamonds are out, tend to be understated classic in style, but not boring! I have several black dials so want a contrast in the silver, Rhodiam, or white/silver numbers, and love the dressier jubilee bracelet, it's comfortable, unique, and I prefer a tool bracelet on a sport watch, so no Oyster on this one..

I have seen the exact same watch in person, classy, understated and yet at the same time so eye catching!

This dial colour is one of those colours that really has to be seen in the flesh as pictures just do not capture its depth or brilliance, it really is exquisit!

Thank you so much for the thread Ian- it received rave reviews, and appears to be tasteful, and different, not generic - i beleive the white dial would look on the cheap. So it's down to the classic silver dial stick or the Rhodium Roman numerals.... oh BTW - I live 20 minutes from Walden Pond

Your Welcome Paul. I think you hit on something with what you mentioned above. It is not generic, one rarely see's this dial whilst there are many white and silver ones out there (nothing wrong with that they are beautiful as well) but this one is so special for the reasons I have already given.

As a side note, I actually found the Romans with Rhodium the easiest to read as well!, You would think it not the case but it is, the romans are a lot darker and show up much more.

As to Walden pond, I must admit I would love to live near there one day! Thoreau is one of the most important figures ever to have come into my life!

For bi-metal YG/RG:

I like your 1 and 3 choices.



I prefer the Romans... but I prefer the silver dial over the white one. I have never seen one with YG/RG Romans on a silver dial but that would be my favorite. I do not like the Rhodium dial (or is it grey) with yellow or rose gold markers... I would like an Ivory dial too, but am not too fond of the pyramid dial.

Okay... I am as confused as you... I would go with 3 with some reservations... sometimes the white just seems too white...



For stainless steel:

The Rhodium dial with Roman's is my favorite... HANDS DOWN.

If you already have a black face Sub, then I'd suggest a white dial. It really is a classic. I've got a black face and silver face DJ and like both, but white is a great choice.

Hi, I see your rhodium roman DJ, but what are the main differences b/w the clasp? I have the crown snap, and yours is a full clasp.
Pardon, the newbie terminology?

is one newer than the other? and is one more preferred by the mass population or is it just a opinion thing?

Sorry, watches are not mine. Pulled the pics from a online reseller. The SS DJ with the Rhodium dial has the old style clasp. The two others have the new clasp.
