Milguass accuracy.
I was going to wait a week to post this but I can only wait 55 hours
I am absolutely dumbfounded by the accuracy of my new pride and joy! I set the watch to my atomic time source and now 55 hours later the dang thing has not gained or lost one single second I have never ever had a mechanical watch this accurate in my life! The only thing more accurate that I own is my Thermocompensated Constellation super quartz which is +4 seconds a year. I have a feeling that this mechanical marvel will probably end up being quartz accurate..Absolutely stunning! For reference I put my watch on around 8.00am and take it off around 9.00pm (gone are the days where I used to take my watch off as soon as I got home, I have to prize this puppy off!) I then place it crown up over night. But I have checked through the day it simply does not gain or loose! I will report back in a week, forgive me for the very un scientific test but I just had to share! |

Glad to hear it!
I've not done any strict scientific testing on the accuracy of my GV either, but yes, from what I can tell, it's pretty darn good! |

Do you think the antimagneticness helps?

I'd leave it until it needs a service. IMO it needs about six months of normal wear before you will really know how accurate/precise it will be.

Millgauss Accuracy
Hi Ian, I am glad your Millgauss is that accurate.. The Milly is really growing in my mind,, that would certainly be my next Rolex.
May I ask how do you test your watch ? What's your atomic time source ? Thanks..

Great results. Mechanical watches are interesting but a accurate mechanical watch is much more interesting.
My accuracy king is my Omega Planet Ocean Coaxial movement that has been monitored for 45 days at 12 hour intervals with Govtime.com. It scored a amazing + or - 0 (zero) second a day for 45 days strait.. I stopped monitoring it because I had to change the time for DLST. Its more accurate than my quartz Tag. I kept a accuracy log on my computer. Its a great way to really know your new watch. |

I have been sure to wear the watch for the same amount of time each day and rest it in the same position each night. I am going to experiement with the resting positions now though and see what happens |

Great news Ian. I hear Rolex makes great watches.
I have similar results with mine. Sometimes I will go weeks and it will still be spot on. Never is it more than a couple of seconds off over a couple of weeks. Happy to hear you are enjoying it.

My white-dialed milgauss gains about 3-4 secs / week. They are really accurate.
