Hi people
would like some advice on which ss sub date to purchase to keep my sub lv company.

My local dealer has a pre owned sub from 2000 complete with all paper work and anchor for £3000 in excellent condition, he can also get me a new sub with the latest random serial numbers and a 10% discount.

I can only have one, but which to go for?

I'd go the the pre-loved.. Why take the depreciation especially if you like to change watches frequently.. If you bought new and decided to sell later you'd loose more money than trying to sell the 2000 sub..

Hear what you are saying but i wont be selling it in the future and the thought of getting one of the last classic subs is appealing............

If getting one of the last classic subs is appealing to you then you must do this. No substitutes.

I think that the 10 year old Sub is overpriced........ get the new one with the discount.........

So that's about £3,500??

For the sake of £500 I'd rather have a new watch than a ten year old one.

Not much of a stretch to BNIB given the overpriced pre-loved watch.

I would go for the new one. If you get 10% discount it will be getting close to the price of the 2000 model. Add in a service for the older one and you are at the same price.
The new one gives you 2 years warranty and no need for a service for many years. I recently saw a new Sub with the random serial sell on Ebay for more than you will pay.
The year 2000 watch is not that old really although it does have the lug holes.

If the older sub has lug holes I'd go for that instead of a new one. The again, it's too much money for that old of a watch.

Have you considered a nice GMT instead of another sub for a little bit of variety. It looks and feels similar, but it compliments it very well...

The pre owned is about £500 over priced, i'd go for the new, unless you can get the pre owned price down.
