can anyone tell me the difference that the serial # letter makes
I am trying to figure out why people call out the serial number letter when selling thier Rolex.

Refinished my oyster bracelet and it looks like new.
I little 1000 sand paper for the heavy stuff and a 3m sanding block for the brushed look and wah-la the bracelet looks new again. Not sure on the grit that was used with the sanding block but it was fine and the block was yellow.

I assume you mean referring to for example, the Z series or D series etc.
This is to indicate the age of the watch. It is also common place to give the first two or three digits of the serial in the older watches before Rolex added letters to the serial numbers. |

The date letter is only a approximation on when a case stamped some regard it as very very important. Myself its just a case stamp letter nothing more nothing less.

The letter indicates the year the watch was manufactured.
