MISTAKE 1680 w/ DRSD by ROLEX!
This is a 2.9mil 1680 with a DRSD applied to the dial by ROLEX. Its got to be a one of a kind. Paperwork from Rolex states this as they obviosly wanted to "correct" it and put a red Sub dial on it. "Uhhh...Thanks but NO THANKS!" Pretty cool huh?

hmmmm interesting Anymore pics? It looks like someone has put the wrong crystal on it. But why? I mean look at that date. Any bigger and you'd be able to read it from the moon. The lume looks really new too. Is it a replacement dial? Does it still glow?

No, its the real deal. No replacement dial. No replacement crystal. All original. Its a 1680.Rolex put the DRSD on the dial. Its like that stamp with the upsidedown airplane on it;-) I'll try to get a good shot of the papers from Rlx for you guys.

Did you get this watch checked by the RSC yourself or are you taking the word of somebody else?

I have looked this photo over several times and I am under the impression it is not a Rolex Submariner, however if the author of this post can supply more photo, to be exact the writing between the lugs, the dial close up, the back of the case, and the movement it would help to really identify the watch and give a determination of it being real or other.

I'm going to let the experts reply on this one, but to my 'virgin' vintage eyes, something does look off.

Confess I don't understand what the OP is describing - would like to see the paperwork that is mentioned, and more pics please.
What is referred to by 'upsidedown airplane' ? The handset looks to have been replaced. Cheers

More Pics on the mistake 1680
Res is too small, but heres some more shots. And no, Im not a "Troll" or whatever that is. Just a dude with an EXTREMELY rare watch. The papers are from RSC in CA. Says the dial was a mistake by Rlx and was put on the wrong watch and that the owner (me) refused them putting the correct dial on the watch. I think there are caseback photos and between the lug photos in there as well.
