Jubilee Dial?
Is the Jubilee dial subdued enough for day to day wear, or is too striking or too "loud" making the watch more of an occaisional wear watch?

To me, it isn't an issue of "loud", but of lifestyle. If you're always on the go and spend leisure time on a boat, racquetball court, or the slopes, a smooth dial and Oyster bracelet work well. If you're more the cocktail party type, the fluted dial and Jubilee will fit in nicely.

I wear mine with suits or jeans. I personally like the result with the wg fluted bezel.
That and the fact the dial simply says rolex and datejust, I don't like the superlative chronometer prints on the regular ones after seeing the jubilee dials.

I have the ROLEX ROLEX ROLEX jubilee dial in blue. It looks nice and has this glow/dimension to it, but under direct bright sunlight it gets too busy.

I like the glow/dimension when I see the Jubilee dial, but wondered if it wears well or if the novelty passes. Also, I tend to see more lady versions than men versions with the jubilee dial. I am thinking about a datejust with a black or white dial, with a SS Jubilee band and a fluted wg bezel. The regular plain black or white dial seem plain, so I was thinking the Jubilee might give it a little something, perhaps with arabic numbers. |

Thats a nice dressy dial you got there.
I got the romans so its more everyday, with the jubilee bracelet. As for people thinking its fake, last time someone questioned my watch lost 500 bucks in a bet. Guy was knocking my DJ (he wore a DJ with baton markers and regular dial) during a poker game, I had a side bet with him for 500 for the authenticity of my watch. Needless to say I won and he was hasn't came back to play with the boys since that day.

I have a Datejust with the original black jubilee dial with arabic numerals. I dislike the new jubilee dials as they are much larger print and far to noticeable and almost cheap looking.
From a distance I imagine my watch looks like a regular black dial; however, upon inspection you can really appreciate the detail. |

I know it is a matter of personal taste and preference, but I don't like the Jubilee dial. Too busy and hard to tell the time from.

I bought a new M series TWO TONE YELLOW GOLD DJ with Jubilee Dial with Diamond Markers.
SUBJECTIVLY SPEAKING: I tried it on once and right back to the box it went and will stay! The watch is way to BLING for me. This watch is RAP VIDEO BLING. To make matters worse, BO , told me so! If you are the type that needs or wants attention, this might be a good choice. OBJECTIVLY SPEAKING: The Jubilee bracelet is excellent. |

I'm one who does not like the Jubiliee dial. I looked at them when I was shopping for my Datejust with blue dial, but I thought the plan blue dial looked much more elegant and classy.
I think the Jubilee dial would appeal to younger buyers who wnat a more trendy look. But it' not for me. |

Good looking watch, but a bit dressy for every day I think.

I love the dial, I would own it right now. The only problem no lume you can not see anything on the dial late at night. So saddly I passed on it. I feel it is very beautiful.

Just got myself a jubilee dial... But surprised to see in this tread that there IS jubilee dial with arabic/roman.
I thought that all jubilee dials are with 10 diamonds??? Or has the arabic/roman been discontinued, and only 10 diamonds now available? |

I have a DJ SS Black arabic jubilee fluted and oyster. I wore it everyday for 6 years before buying my gmt. Summer is kaki shorts and polo to work and winter is Jeans and sweaters, etc. Looks good with whatever!

This is what is great about the Datejust line. The ROLEX Jubilee Dial is unique and positively suits the needs and wants of certain buyers. It's one of so many dial options.
Some I really like a lot. The blue pics above from Thurnau are awesome - love to have one of those. Really works with the Oyster bracelet. Others I have seen at ADs not so much. Oddly, I've never spotted a JD in the wild. |
