am I going to hell

I am about to get the dial on my 78 date refinished but i am thinking of having it done in a candy apple green. need some advise is this a bad idea and will i be trashing my watch if i do that?

Cool! It's your watch, and you can pimp it however you like. I customized my 69 -Date- Ref:1500, with a Diamond Bezel set, and it looks brilliant. However, this is a watch that I plan to keep, and pass on to a family member. I don't encourage altering any Rolex watches.

Well, TRF members do tend to be traditionalists. I for one wouldn't do it, I think it wouldn't befit an elegent watch like a Date. If it's what you want, then go for it - just don't expect to be able to sell it in the future

There is a way to have both. Leave the original alone and find a used dial you can trick out to any color you like. Have it installed but keep the original dial in storage as I believe you will be needing it sooner than you think.
