Confession of a Chronic Flipper...Finally Satisfied...Rolex Date Just II Rhodium

Greetings friends. I just received what I hope to be the watch that I have been searching for over the past 4 years. Had an amusing conversation with my incredibly understanding wife about my watch odyssey over the last few years and started to reminisce on all the watches I have blown through.

I have for one reason or another never been satisfied with my current watch and always wanting something next...often flipping watches the same day the new watch was received.

I compiled a little list of the watches that I have owned over the last few years, many of which you will see were repeats (how many times can one person buy and sell and buy again an Omega Planet Ocean)??

Here is a quick list of the victims...

Tag Heuer 2000 Aquaracer
Tag Heuer Formula 1 (#1)
Breitling Superocean Steelfish X-Plus (#1)
Christopher Ward Malvern Automatic
Omega Seamaster Bond Automatic
Omega Aqua Terra 39MM Creme dial with blue hands (#1)
Tag Heuer Formula One (white face) – (#2)
Rolex Explorer II White Face (#1)
Breitling Colt GMT Blue Face
Oris XXL Chronograph
Oris BC3+ White Face Blue Hands
Tag Heuer Formula 1 (white face/SS bracelet) (#3)
BREITLING AEROMARINE COLT QUARTZ II
Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Co-Axial (White face/blue hands) 42mm (#2)
Accutron Innsbruck Moonphase
Christopher Ward C3 Malvern Chronograph
Omega Aqua Terra Co-Axial (White face/blue hands) 42mm (#3)
KOBOLD Spirit of America SOA
Omega Aqua Terra Co-Axial 42mm White Face/Blue Hands (#4)
TX330 Perpetual Calendar (#1)
OMEGA Aqua Terra Chronograph 2512.30
PANERAI PAM 113
Seiko "pepsi" automatic diver blue/gray dial bracelet
Rolex Explorer II White Face M Serial (#2)
Panerai PAM 005 Logo
TX Technoluxury TX330 Perpetual Calendar (#2)
Omega Seamaster GMT White Face 300M 2538.20
Omega Planet Ocean 45mm (#1)
Omega Aqua Terra Co-Axial White Face Gold Hands 42mm (#5)
Breitling Superocean Steelfish 44mm (#2)
Tag Aquaracer Calibre 5 500M 43mm Silver Dial (#1)
Omega Planet Ocean XL 45.5mm (#2)
Golana Aqua AQ100-2 Black Dial 44mm
TISSOT T-TREND QUADRATO Chrono (#1)
Omega Planet Ocean XL 45.5mm (#3)
TISSOT T-TREND QUADRATO CHRONOGRAPH (#2)
Omega Planet Ocean 45.5mm (#4)
Tag Heuer Aquaracer CAL.5 500M (#2)
Omega Planet Ocean 45.5mm Blk/Blk (#5)
Rolex Explorer II White Face M Series (#3)
Omega Planet Ocean XL 45.5mm 2200.50 (#6)
Omega Planet Ocean XL 2200.50 (#7)
Rolex 16610 Submariner Date 2009 M Series

Jeez. Enough to drive a normal man crazy. Constant flipping and flopping. Never satisfied. Always wanting something else.

Well...I am hoping this is it. I am finally able to look at my wrist and be truly satisfied. This is my grail. The perfect blend of dress and occasional casual wear. It's only taken me almost a half of a decade to find her.

I present my Date Just II V Series Rhodium dial. I am in love!!

I think you should sell it!

To me! Just kidding. I love that one! The lume is way cool! Here are a couple pictures I have saved from someone elses post a while back. This may be my second Rolex purchase!

I doubt...

I don't think you are DONE, since a lot of us have been there (maybe not to your level).
New model is coming out every year, some day some model will catch you again...

From the looks of that "flip" list, I predict additional pieces will be added. You got the "sickness" bad.

Love the DJ 2.

That's a lot of flipping, Josh!

Seriously, every time I think I'm done with my watch collection, I see another one I just must have.

WOW!! And I thought I was a flipper having gone through 26 Rolexes, several OMEGAs, a few Longines and other watches!!

Congrats on the new DJ-II. I love the rhodium dial and Arabics combo.
