Question about lug-holes vs. no lug-holes ...

I know that the newer Submariners and Sea Dwellers use spring bars to attach the bracelet to the case. My question is do the older Sea Dwellers (and Submariner No-Date) that have lug-holes also use spring bars to attach the bracelet or do they use friction pins?

They are all attached with spring-bars....

The through-hole lugs use a spring-bar with larger diameter and longer length pivots that extend through the lug... The newer ones use spring-bars with pivots that are smaller in diameter and these only extend about half way into the lug.....

I would say that the through holes, with the proper spring bars, is quite a bit more secure and sronger (greater shear strength) than the non-hole lugs and spring-bars....

No doubt, the through holes are stronger.

Also it is much easier to remove or change the bracelet with through holes.

Seems to be a change based on style over function.
