Brand new or Preloved ?
Hello everyone!
I was recently offered by a retail shop of a pam111 J (4000usd)that is in a very good condition. And I was also quoted for a BNIB Pam111 M/L series(4500usd). Is it worth paying the extra 500usd for a bnew?

I buy pre-owned whenever possible. However, be sure that the watch is in good condition and the package is complete (makes resale easier for you if you decide to let it go at some point down the line).
Rule #1 of buying used is to buy the seller - that is to say, respectable dealers and individuals with a track record of good transactions. Goodluck. |

For 500 dollars I would go with the BNIB.
For 800~1000, if it was the complete package, the preowned without second question. One exception: if the preowned was your buddy's watch then the 500 is acceptable!! |

x2 ...But I have never bought a brand new Rolex to date...Always preowned in a Mint condition and complete.. Have always saved few hundred dollars on each one...One of my problems is I tend to flip them in a year or two (except my 16610). Had it not been preowned I would have taken a big hit at each flip..This is a point to consider..

If you plan on keeping the watch for years, then BNIB. $500 is a small price to pay for the privilege of first ownership. There is nothing like full warranty and the fun of whipping out your credit card at the dealership and shouting "I'll take it!".

I would rather have someone else take the initial hit for me, but for $500 it would be nice to have my name on the original papers.
Hope this helps, my friend.

$500 I would take the brand new watch. For $800-1000, I would go pre-owned.

I bought the pre-loved before, then flip it to new one.... for $500, brand new should be worth it....

$500 isn't much for the new one considering the overall price...

I would pay $500 for the pleasure of owning a new one. It is not much a difference at this price point.

I prefer getting it pre-owned, but from a person I know, or a trusted retailer. It saves me money to buy myself some straps! HAR HAR! :D

I say pre-owned. $500 bucks can buy a lot of other watch related items like winders, straps, etc.

I'm going to go with pre-owned! The extra $500 would be used to 'wine & dine' the wife while explaining my latest PAM!
