Setting my watch by the forum clock

Hi all

Short post this time...

Just wondered how accurate the forum's clock is (the one in red, above) as I've been trying to judge the timekeeping of my GMT by it. According to the clock I've lost 6secs since yesterday and the last thing I want to do is take it into Rolex (I'd miss it too much).

Anyone else use it to check their watch against?

Thanks

The forum clock is showing your PC's time. Reset the time on your PC to an hour ahead or behind, and you'll see the forum time does the same.

Do not trust the in-forum clock its the same time as your PC. Try the BT speaking clock ring 123. Or one of the many on-line time checkers but please don't get too annal about spot on time.

Steve, try exerting just a little backward pressure on the crown, ie turning the hands backwards but ever so slightly so they do not actually move, that should stop your second hand......

I'm sure EU must have something similar to the US Naval Observatory "Master Clock" service that we have in the US.

It's pretty insane, the mean time includes data from 45 atomic clocks.

For last 30 years, I have been synchronizing my watches to GMT broadcasted on AM Shortwave radio 5000 or 10,000 or 15,000 KHZ freq...

I know not many shortwave radios are around anymore and some younger guys have never seen one.... During my military service, listening to international broadcasts from around the world was a fun way to kill time and deal with boredom and of course, SYNCHRONIZING my GMT II to the tune of the GMT time stations.......
