Is there a Panerai thats considered a classic like a sub is to Rolex?
I am looking to buy a new watch and owning 2 Rolex and an Omega GMT am thinking of buying a Panerai. The problem is that I know nothing about Panerai watches.
So my question is, is there a classic Panerai model (like a sub or GMT is to Rolex) that is considered the workhorse of the brand? The reason I ask is that the sub is timeless in design and I am hoping to choose a Panarai with the same atributes. Hope this post is not too lame........ |

Many consider the 111 to be a real workhorse and a classic.

I think any of the Base models would fit that description.

The 24/25/243/305 is not a true classic design wise. Luminor and radomir are the work horses of the brand.

Another vote for the 111. Ask this question in 2 or 3 years and you might see the 312take over... a future classic IMHO.

If the 111 is the sub equivalent, does that make the 292 the daytona ?
