Explorer II - Never Copied.
I was thinking recently that the explorer & milgauss models are never seen to be 'copied' by a 'lesser' brand. Subs, GMTs, Daytona, DD, DJ all have had models created by other watch brands that look almost identical - I'm not talking fakes, just watches with the same case/dial/bracelet to make it look Rolex at a casual glance.
e.g: I know Rolex's are considerd almost genre defining in certan applications but how many more £25 Datejust look-alikes does the world need, and why are some other classic premium watches never 'paid homage to'? I know these questions are a bit pointless but it will be intresting to hear anyones thoughts. |

Now that you mention it; I do not recall movies/TV shows in which a white or black expy II nor a milgauss are worn (I know Daniel Craig wears a milgauss but not on the movie)

There's more than a few EXP II clones out there.

What about the Milgauss? Is that still safe from being copied?

Haven't seen a homage, but certainly been knocked off. Ask Shade.

PLENTY of Explorer 2 homages out there. My old man has a Swiss Army version. He loves it. Going to get him the real deal for his 50th next year though.
