Hi what does the phrase "solid links" refer to exactly in the parlance of various rolex bracelets? oysters, jubilees, presidents. ty

As simple as it sounds, the center links are not hollow. They are solid with holes drilled for the pins and screws.

Yup...Take the Super Jubilee on the new DateJusts. The bracelet feels nice / very substantial!

about this before.......the links are certainly more "solid".....but may not be as solid as you think.....there's no plating involved with any Rolex case/bracelet materials so you could argue that they are all "solid" stainless steel or Gold or a mixture....pictures below show one possible configuration of the new "solid" links....the PDF attached can be opened and manipulated as follows....

To rotate - hold down left mouse button and drag mouse around

To zoom - hold down right mouse button and drag mouse around

To pan - hold down both mouse buttons and drag mouse around

Aren't they all solid, with the exception (in older bracelets) of the end link that hinges on the watch case? My understanding is that the term solid-end-link (SEL) is used frequently to distinguish from the hollow-end-link of older bracelets. Also, the older versions use a segmented center-link on the bracelet termination to the watch case, as opposed to the new ones, which are one piece?

Originally Rolex used folded link bracelets [1st pic]. Then the bracelets were updated to solid outer links with thicker hollow center links [second pic]. The current Oyster and Jubilee bracelets have all solid link construction w/ solid end links [SELs] instead of the earlier stamped end links [3rd pic] and milled clasps instead of earlier stamped clasps [4th pic].
