? for fellow ladies 31mm or Explorer
Was looking for a 31mm Oyster Perp. w/fluted bezel & black face today. While trying on the 31mm also tried on the 36mm Explorer. Surprised how much I liked it. The explorer having the slightly slimmer face is really comfortable. Like the bigger watches, but wasn't sure long term if I wanted to go bigger than the 31mm. Must be getting used to seeing everyone in bigger watches since the 31mm almost looked small on my wrist.
So ladies anyone w/the 31mm switch to a larger watch? Any pictures wearing your Explorer? And no buying both not is in the budget! |

I can't answer for the ladies, but my wife wears a Submariner. I think it's quite striking on her. I say "go for it."
L PS It's really funny how irritated she gets by all the "why are the ladies wearing OUR watches" threads. I mean REALLY funny. |

My first Rolex was a 26mm lady Datejust. I was disappointed with it because once I got it home I found the dial was hard to read and I did think it was too small. However, when I tried it on at the AD I tried the midsize, too - and thought 31mm was much too big for me. I should have researched the different sizes a little more to be sure about what I wanted. Too big a hurry.
Fast forward three years... and my daily wearer is a 34mm Date or a 40mm Explorer II (hand-me-down from my husband). I think the larger-watch trend is going to be here for a while. You probably won't go wrong with the Explorer's size. It's a great looking watch, too. Have you also looked at the 36mm Datejusts? Many more options to chose from as far as bracelet, dial, bezel, and so on... Then again, there's the Air King, which at 34mm is another great looking classic. No matter what, deciding what to get is fun! Keep us posted. |

My ex-wives went from the classic 26mm lady dj's to 31-34mm OPND, DJ, AK's etc. so they could see the dial without putting on their eyeglasses.
That's the popularity of big watches....you can see 'em! |

This is a pic from the DC GTG a few months ago. Justin's GF was wearing this one - pink markers, very nice.

I personally don't like the whole "wall clock on your wrist" trend that appears to be starting up, but that is just me. |

Thanks for the replies. The Explorer is in the lead. Going to try to get out to the Rolex store in South Coast Plaza when I'm in Orange County next month so I can get a look in person at a bunch of styles. Like to see a few on before I buy.
This site has been pretty handy on photos. |

Go for the Explorer! As long as it's comfortable, why not?! I've only worn men's models for the last 6 or so years and don't plan on changing anytime soon! My wrist is just under 6.5" by the way and you can tell by my signature that I much prefer the larger watches.
Good luck girl! |
