Possibility? Dunno, just asking.
With all the drama lately I was wondering, why is there such a strict "no replica" policy with reguards to talking about them or seeing pics? It would seem to me that this community on the whole is not as up to date on the quality of fakes available. There is a wealth of information out there, and maybe if you opened our minds up a bit, we could all be better educated on how to spot them an avoid future issues. We could all use more info, as nobody knows it all. A recent thread proved that way to many members dont know all the in and outs of fake spotting. I know there is a bit of info in the watch out section, but it really doesnt cover enough.

I think the simple answer is that the Mods want to keep the discussion limited to real watches - I completely agree with that. There are plenty of other resources to use in order to arm yourself against fakes, and the Watch Out section does its job extremely well - you can pick up snippets of info from there

The watch out section isnt all that good. A fake was recently praised here and made it on Jakes blog. And members here, after it came out a fake, said they had issue with it, and yet NEVER mentioned a thing until after it came out. WHY??? I think if more members here were willing to learn, it would be even better. And thats seems to be the problem, alot of the members here are not willing to go beyond here to learn, so outside resources arent an option for them.

A lot of the guys in Watch Out do not spend much time in the other forums so they never saw they watch you are talking about until it was posted in Watch Out then they all chimed in.

I joined this forum to see real Rolex watches, I only buy from an AD so would gain no real pleasure in looking at fake watches, those members that have the skill that I don't posses, seem to enjoy themselves in the watch out section, and a very good job they do too. It is all down to membership desire and the wishes of the forum management, there may or may not be a market for such a forum, I find more pleasure looking at the real deal.

It's really pretty simple. Either buy from an AD OR from a TRUSTED seller. You're supposed to buy the seller as well as a watch. Anything else is a risk. It's not rocket science it's common sense. Dah.

I enjoy this Forum to look at and see real watches over the fake ones and also to socialize with other like minded people. I do not come here to look at and discuss fakes as I'm sure there are other Forums for that. It has nothing to do with being educated about fakes as it does with having fun!!!

Nobody is against education.............. but knowing what a real Rolex looks and feels like is far better than having a list of what to look for on a fake... If you relied on such criteria, then you will be fooled when one comes along without those "listed" tells... The Watch Out Board is the place for identifying or questioning watches.
However, the key reason is because discussion about fakes is always emotional and almost always degrades into finger pointing, rants, high emotions and eventually good members being banned.......... We've had to extend these restrictions to guns, knives, politics, religion, and lately offensive gender innuendo............. all because of a childish few who cannot seem to carry on a mature discussion of such things......... Bottom line....... there are plenty of "replica" Forums out there... TRF isn't one of them..
