This is the only supplier I know of who sells the genuine Admiralty straps made by Phoenix straps in Cardiff

more update

ok,
so I called the UK rolex service center this morning. they have the strap, but i was bluntly told that they will not ship it to the USA, not even to an AD in the USA.
After a few calls to my local AD and NYC service center, hoping to get lucky, i was finally told it is a UK only piece. so, if its good or bad.....I wont be getting it by any authorized means here in the USA.
If I do get it i will post with the strap and the other brands that I have so we can all see how they stack up. I'm sure you guys are right and its not with the money, but now its a challenge.

The admiralty strap supplied through Rolex is nothing special, and not manufactured by Rolex. Rather than spend ~$50 for a nato, just buy a couple quality staps instead from another source.
You can get a number of high quality NATO straps through timefactors.com
I have several. Eddie carries high quality straps. Not all NATOs are the same quality BTW.
Good to see another member about to join the Nylon Nation!

I'm not sure I would want a reminder of the fact that I overpaid for a nylon strap by a factor of 3, but that's me.
The clasp has no crown, it is generic. I'm sure rolex paid less than $10 for them.

Have to agree and IMHO better quality than the very overpriced ones that you get from Rolex.
