California Military Dial ???

I came across a link claiming that this is a very rare Red Dial Rolex. Has anyone else seen one or heard of this model Rolex before. I like the look.

The article states Ca. 1928 for age??? Did watches look like that in 1928???? The watch looks more like it's from the 50's-60's????? It's cool looking whatever it is.

I agree, it does look very cool. However, I don't think it is very stealthy for a military watch. Maybe it was intended for the English.......

Very ugly red dial, but sure does appear to be authentic.

I think that these brightly colored dials are aftermarket. I have seen them many times before in many colors. The watch head and movement look genuine. The bracelet, not so much.

I am skeptical, especially with the cheap aftermarket bracelet with the copyright violation coronet on there...too shaky. I would require authentication if I were to want such a watch.

The movement seems OK, but I'm no expert.

Not sure about:
1) the mercedes hands - looks wrong on a small case oyster
2) dial - does it have the coronet? what does it say?
3) solid WG bezel - I believe precious metal bezels would have been fluted in this era.

Very unique, but the aftermarket bracelet does not do it any favors IMO.

Agreed. The mercedes hands don't go with this watch. My spidey sense is going off right now. FAKE.

I'd bet it is no good...

Looks like those Tudors that show up on the bay from time to time.
Just my .02 though.
Best,
