Please don't slate me for this.
I have had the urge for a Panerai for a while now but I can't afford one. I really love the style so I this arrived an hour ago.
It is 44mm with ETA 2824-2 movement with a see thru case back. The thickness is 16mm.It uses luminova and has a very nice leather strap. It doesn't say Panerai on it as I didn't want an obvious fake Panerai or I would have bought one. I know what people might think, a lookalike is a fake just as a fake is a fake but hey I wanted the style and I have certainly got that. What do you all think.

The fact that it has a mechanical movement is cool and it at least scratches the itch until you can get the real deal. I'd be interested to see how well it fares in terms of reliability and accuracy. What did you pay for it, if you don't mind me asking? Keep us posted as to how well it works. |

Its not a fake, in my books, fakes are made purposely to deceive and sold
as the real product. Its in the style of Panerai, like quite a few others out there.Nice workhorse of a movement much like my Vixa without the lever crown guard.

where and when would you wear it??
you have a fully paid up rolex Sea Dweller personally i can't see an occasion i'd choose that over my SD , it may cost a lot less but im sure it just wont feel that "special" on either as the real deal, i am of the belief it is that "special" mindset that justifys everytime the cost of buying the real item, you just feel "good"
cheers steve |

I have to agree with Steve. I have a Panerai and find I'm wearing it less and less. My preference now is my TT Sub.

An addendum. Because Panerai are so unique in look and feel, this is a good way to find out if it is for you without a big outlay in cash to find out you 'pulled a pumpkin'.
Imagine dropping $5K on a Panerai to find out that it isn't for you afterall. |

I hear you can send it to Rolex direct to have that black dial swapped out for a blue one. |

SEadweller.. a load of guys got this watch on another forum and they speak very well of it.. congratulations! i personally dont think there is anything wrong with homages.. it also allows you to see if you suit the style.

I personally like it. I think it's fine to get a "replica" if you really want a watch but can't afford it. I've been holding out on you guys but yes, I too am getting a "replica". Please do not draw and quarter me. It's obviously goning to be the SS sub. I should be getting it next month because a guy that works at the same place as my dad works on Rolexes a lot and he is going to some watch show next month. He said he can get me a "replica" there. He will have chances to open them up and take a look at the movements to make sure its not a total piece of $h!t. It will at least hold me over until I can afford the real thing.

I have been on the fence on this issue in the past, but I gotta tell ya, I see taht watch as a hommage watch, not a replica. There is a huge difference to me. That watch will let you feel if you like the feel of the Panerai and also will wet your appetite to make you want the Pam even more. It is not a fake since it does not say Panerai anywhere on it. A fake is robbing and stealing from a company, that watch, even though it looks similar is is not stealing anything like a blatent FUGAZI!!
Now I also agree with Steve that if you have a SD I don't know when you would wear that one. But it will be a nice change of pace for sure. I am really softening on the hommage idea, if it were a bad thing many Seikos and Citizens watches would not exist. I think it looks great and if it tides you over that is even better, wear in health and happiness.
