Red letter Code for Rolex
This is a picture I took from the brochure which came with my Rolex Report guide, explaining the numeric system and how it works.

I didn't find any red letters on my warranty papers.

Now is that your opinion or a fact that you can state 100% to be true. Now even in the James Dowling book there are quite a few mistakes?
Red letters stamped on the back of some guarantee/warranty papers certificates but not all (But Only on USA watches only)They indicate the date the watch was shipped from the main Rolex USA distribitor, to the AD dealer, using the simple code below and nothing more. R=1 O=2 L=3 E=4 X=5 W=6 A=7 T=8 C=9 H=0

Rolex is not the problem, it's the unscrupulous importers, and dealers I am concerned about! Some will do anything for huge profit. They probably have defender's on this forum itself.

Well, then the best solution would be to find a AD you feel comfortable with. I even got Ben Bridge to toss in a watch winder when I got my Explorer...and I'll do biz with them again

I accuse no AD in particular! Only the possibility it may happen. So, you got your AD for a winder hah!

That letter marking is the only way I can verify an AD's claim to when he actually recived the watch from Rolex in Switzerland. What's wrong with having a little business honesty?

No in the USA only it should indicate when it left the Main Rolex distributor USA, then on to the AD and they are just hand stamped if they remember to do it.
