Awesome.. I've always wanted it to be Michael Schumacher or another race legend.

But after reading the article, Collins seems like a pretty cool guy.

The original Stig (Black Stig) was Perry McCarthy. He did about 25 episodes until they replaced him with the current Stig.

Top Gear has disappeared up it's own rear in the last 10 years.

Too much cash and Clarkson.

But it's still the best show of its kind and its hard to find another show thats worth watching. Especially on US networks. Look at the shows SPEED channel produces. Most are crap...

Generally I cant stand car shows, too dry and not very interesting but since my friend made me watch a show I was hooked. This is probably one of my favorite shows on TV, great balance of info and humor. I especially love the endurance type races they do, going across country in a old clunker or what not. The Stig is a great character and just fits the mood of the show. But will they replace the Stig with a new one? and what color will he be? the first wa dressed i black and the second n white so will he be red?

I watched an episode on TV last month where Clarky was discussing the new Nissan GTR that was to be released in 6 months time. Talk about old repeats.
We also have an Aussie version of 'Top Gear' and that is a complete waste of space.
As for the 'White Stig" - who is Collins?

Best show of its kind. Agree totally with Sir Paul, but here across the pond we have nothing - I mean, not a thing - worth watching. Top Gear still shines brightly in a sea of mediocrity.

There was a rumour going around, at one time, that the Stig was actually Damon Hill!

I bet there will be a new Stig, now that his (current) identity is out.
