Just arrived from Sweden

A huge thanks to Thomas in Stockholm for his help with this.
Last week I read a TRF thread about changing the dial in a SS Daytona to one of the WG dials.
As you know, the dial are almost impossible to obtain in the USA.
Thomas mentioned that he had a source in Europe for Rolex parts
He kindly offered to obtain a WG "panda" dial for me as well as matching red hand set.
The parts were shipped on Monday and Fed Ex delivered them today following a two night delay in Customs in Memphis.
I plan to have the new dial installed in my 16520 Daytona next week. The D series "donor" Daytona is from a trade a couple of months ago with my buddy Mike (the mod).
The hand set is so tiny and appears so delicate. It gives me a new appreciation for the skills of a Rolex certified watchmaker.
Some pictures follow with more to come when my watch is returned by the watchmaker.
Tack sa mycket Thomas, your assistance was fantastic, my friend!

Very cool, Mark!

Question - is the Panda dial off-white in color? Doesn't appear to be as crisp white as the current dial on your Daytona. I haven't seen one yet in person so was wondering.

I am afraid to touch the dial or even open the plastic "bubble" Karis, but the dial appears (through the packaging) to be more ivory than white in color.

Rolex call this dial "soft white" in their dial catalog. The ones I have seen also have a "rough" texture to their finish that looks like an off white sheet of emory paper. It is definately not a smooth glossy white like the white Daytona dial.

Can't wait to see the pictures of it on the SS Daytona. It's a real sharp dial!!

Great Idea! I think it will be the best of both worlds with the dial combined with
the hard SS case . . . look forward to seeing the finished product!
