Great walk through . One thing though, is there any seal between the tapers of the case and the tube when you screw them together, or is the metal against metal seal enough for water tightness? I see the o-ring in the tube I just wondered about the outside.

There is no seal between the tube and case, it is only the tapered surfaces that seal against each other.

For the submariner there is a seal in between ! I guess because it is rated for deeper water resistance

If only I could repair one of my watch like this.
How could you get a brand new crown as spare part ? I've heard that Rolex is hard to sell spare parts ?
