The show was great. I think his only problem is that he has too many hits to play them all in one night. I'm sure he sometimes has a hard time picking out his watch for the day also; I've heard his collection is incredible also. Haha

Quite amazing. I'm listening to my favorite FM station as I am on TRF. A JM song came on just as I opened this thread.

It's a sign. You should buy another Rolex.

Awesome concert. I was wondering what he was wearing. The close-ups on that center screen were uh-MAzing.

The Mayer dial is an exotic Daytona dial with three colors and ROC (Rolex/Oyster/Comograph) lettering on the dial. The Mayer Dial is black in color, with white subdials and red outter minute tracking. ie 3 colors. This dial, the 3CROC, is associated with screw down daytona models.

The Mayer dial (aka Texas dial by many long time sellers/collectors in the vintage Rolex community, as that seems to be where they originated from a couple decades ago) is not considered a true Rolex issue by most. They do have value to a small and vociferous group of collectors and dealers, who feel they are an ultra rare version of the Paul Newman dial. Mayer himself posted on a well-known vintage forum a couple years ago defending the dial's validity, which is why he is honored with his name attached to it.

If you want to read more about it, do a search here for Pav's (username Onkyo) experience with the Faber gallery in buying and returning a Mayer dial Daytona.

JM got his collecting jones from Eric Clapton, who had an even more impressive collection until he sold a good portion of it off for charity.

He switched his watch twice (total of three worn) during the show that I attended. I was more obsessed with his watch than the music. I guess that is...a good thing.

He changed his watch 3 times during a show? Wow, that is odd. He must cart around several with him

Ya think??? He may have a nice watch collection and be a talented musician
but some of his comments about women make him look not so smart!
