Guess where Mr. Wilsdorf was when he came up with the ROLEX name?
According to Perpetual Spirit Magazine he was traveling on the open deck of a London double decker omnibus as it approached the famous landmark of St. Paul's cathedral.

There is actually a picture of Wilsdorf on a double-decker that I've seen somewhere.

Not confirmed, but the name Rolex came from a French phrase "horlogerie exquise" or exquisite clockwork.
