This model gets a lot of hate, but if they only got rid of that sill YMII text on the bezel, and made it SS I'd consider it.

Thanks! indeed.

When I started to get frustrated with not finding the right piece after 4-5 months of searching daily... I *almost* said f it and bought the WG YMII. I was close.... but I'm really glad I waited it out!

Mike, that is a gorgeous watch .... are you thinking about buying it if you sell one of your watches ...... or were you just window shopping?

That model Yacht-Master does get a lot of hate as one member states, but that is always based on the the colors of the watch and the wording on the bezel.

However, the Yacht-Master II is a genuine tool watch that has what I think is a rather remarkable movement.

This watch has a mechanical "programmable" timer, which sounds like a real innovation to me.

It is built for a single purpose and that is yachting and beyond telling time, it's not good for much else. At least the Deepsea Sea-Dweller, regardless of the fact that it is designed specifically for saturation divers, can also be used to time one's wash load.

It probably doesn't really concern Rolex that the masses are not particularly drawn to a watch that is so directly targeted to a particular crowd and a usually very well-heeled one at that.

There is a white gold model that is quite subdued in comparison to the Stainless one that gets most of the ridicule.

I am thinking about buying it. It looks good but once you have it on your wrist it truly is jaw dropping. You got the same feeling?

I tried one on for size when they hit the Oz Ad.
I liked it a lot it is one huge slab of Au.
Biggest problem was the Australian price and the possible lack of a buyer if I wanted to sell it down the track.
