And I think it would spoil the look.

its an anti-magnetic watch. a date would be an opening on the face and your time would be off.

You are wrong.

Blancpain Fifty Fathoms is an antimagnetic watch too, but it has a date feature.

Although VC Overseas and AP ROO (not all of the models) are antimagnetic and has a date feature.

I believe the current Milgauss is derived from the 1950s version which did not have a date. The reason is - as has been stated earlier - Rolex engineers wanted to minimise the number of apertures for magnetism to enter the watch.

Yep.

There were even a few that had no tritium on the dial--Called the CERN dial.

Oh thanks guys for the quick response! I guess that makes perfect sense! I think it is such a beautiful watch, but I am also really interested in a date function. I guess I'll keep looking at DJ's and Sub-c's.

I got a Milgauss in August and haven't missed it. I always got lazy updating the date on my previous watch, so it was wrong half the time anyway.

IWC's Ingenieur can handle the date. So can the Sinn 656.

Personally I prefer no date because it means the watch is always ready to go. When I had 6 or 7 watches I hated all the "30 days hath September" months.

It's what I liked about the explorer.

I'd have to really consider a date buy unless it was perpetual or annual.

There's already a Milgauss with a Date, it's called the Datejust II

In all seriousness, though, having two 41mm dressy date models makes no sense at all. It's like the 36mm O.P. and the Explorer, the former took the niche of the latter, hence the bump in size of the Explorer to 39mm

No date can be a plus as some has stated. But if you're like me, constantly glancing to my watch for a date, a no-date watch can sometimes cause "oh bummer - now where's my mobile phone" hehehe... no biggie though.

This is why I use my "no dates" for days when it doesn't matter - i.e. on my days off.

But I agree, you need a date if you use the watch for work days.

I suggested that Rolex put a date on the Milguass in a thread earlier this year. Some guys thought is was a rubbish idea as it would not be in step with the heritage of the watch.

I think the Milguass is a great looking watch but a date window is essential for me.

No Milguass or EXP1 for me.
