Icon17 GMT II C : One week in

Hi,

I've now had my GMT IIc for nearly 2 weeks now, and I'm loving it more every day. This watch is just awesome.

I am also loving the fact I dodged the Rolex price increase by just a few days

So to celebrate the highly important 12 day anniversary , here are some photos to show off my precious. Enjoy!

I can't agree more. I've been wearing my IIC for a few weeks now and it's "off" less than a minute....super accurate and one of the best looking of the current models, imho.

I couldn't agree more, I think it's the new Rolex "flagship"! Rolex hit a major home run with the GMTII-C. The only improvement (or change rather) I can think of is to get rid of the PCL's! I don't mind the tiny scratches, but fingerprints, etc are a pain in the a$$. I'll let it go a few more months and then probably brush the PCL's and clasp. IMO there souldn't be PCL's on a stainless tool watch. As for accuracy, I've only had mine a month now, was 3 seconds fast after the first week, reset the second hand and now it's dead on the money!

For me my GMT IIc is the most accurate watch I own at -1/day.

Hi - I set it a couple of days ago to be synced exactly with thetimenow.com. Looking just now, it's a couple of seconds slow, so my quick assesment is that it's running about 1 second per day slow.

I heard that automatic watches take a few weeks (or months?) to 'run in' - being a newb, how much truth is there in this? Or is it an urban myth?

Thanks.

I've had mine since July and I have not bought another watch since, some kind of record for me.

Looks great, love it, comfortable and very accurate!

Yikes, I hadn't noticed that! You're right though, it's fairly obvious in the photos. I just checked, and the bezel is in perfect health though, so it's not a scratch.

I took these photos at the zoo yesterday, where my wife & I had taken our 2 boys. I suspect that this was un-noticed remnants of some packed lunch which one of them had managed to smear upon my watch. (Photos were taken post-lunch!).

I have forgiven them and still love them

Enjoying mine too. After 8 days, mine is 13 secs slow, about 1.6sec/day, still within COSC. But I think on some of the days, I only wore it for a couple of hours, so the spring would have not been optimally wound.
