The replacement for that bracelet will cost you a pretty penny. I would factor the price for the replacement and any other maintenance the watch may need into this decision and I would look around a bit and compare before I made this purchase.

I would look at it like this. The bracelet for around $1000.00 can be rebuilt and will be tight assuming all of the link are there and they are not dinged etc.Another way to look at this is you can sell the bracelet for scrap gold and keep the watch head and wear it on a strap. The bracelet should scrap for around $1900-$2200 depending on the number of links.What condition is the case,dial, hands,and movement in as this would be the main factor knowing the bracelet is stretched already? 1803 heads go for 3k and up. A few months ago I sold a Mint 1803 with a rebuilt tight bracelet and a fresh service for $5700.00

I considered similar a couple of months ago & backed out.

At the time I had a conversation with RSC Bexley who said that Rolex no longer service a 'well used' president bracelet but offer 50% part-exchange / trade-in on a new replacement, at the time that 50% would have been circa £3500 + vat

Could u point me in the right direction? Only other choices I see are those costing $9k upwards... not quite within my budget.

180 grams of 18k gold is £3600.00 $5500 equates to £3470.00 Mmn how about buying the watch, scrapping the bracelet and putting a very good quality leather strap on it, you could come out owning a very cheap DAYDATE.

1803s have not seen an increase in demand even with gold prices going up and up and up. You won't be paying much more, if any, if you're patient enough to wait for a better deal.
